Newcastle Car Ferries

Newcastle to Amsterdam Car Ferry

DFDS Seaways have a daily (overnight) Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry service, using 2 ships. Both ferries were  renovated in 2006 and can hold around 1500 passengers each. Each ferry on the Newcastle to Amsterdam route has a wide range of things to see and do onboard, with numerous bars, restaurants, shops and, on the ferry m.s. King of Scandinavia, there is even a casino.

 

The ferry to Amsterdam (IJmuiden) departs from Newcastle at 17:00 and after an overnight cruise arrives in Holland at 09:30 local time.

The Newcastle-bound ferry departs Amsterdam at 17:30 local time, arriving in Newcastle at 09:00 (UK time) the following day.

 

 DFDS Seaways also sails daily from Copenhagen in Denmark to Oslo in Norway, and has a regular ferry service between Harwich and Esbjerg, Denmark.

Driving directions to Newcastle ferry port:

 

From the west follow signs to the City, & then signs for coast which leads to the A1058. Follow signs to ferries & North Sea, which leads to the ferry port at Newcastle Royal Quays.

 

From either the north or south follow the A19 to Tyne Tunnel roundabout, which is north of the River Tyne, then follow signs to ferries & North Sea, which leads to the ferry port at Newcastle Royal Quays.
